According to statistics released by the local customs authorities, the two-way trade between Fujian Province and African countries rose 33.4 percent to reach US $1.89 billion in 2007.
Fujian exported mainly machinery, electronic goods and apparels worth $1.72 billion to Africa last year and imported marble, granite as well as raw material of mineral products amounting to $170 million from the region, representing 20.2 percent rise over 2006.
Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco and South Africa remained the four key regions, accounting for more than 60.5 percent of the trade with the continent.
Experts believe that relations among the regions can prosper much further, especially since the both economies match each other.
To encourage the bilateral trade, analysts recommended that the businesses to increase imports from the African continent by taking advantage of the preferential duty policies.
