The 5th China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fair – Guangzhou will be held from 13 to 16 June 2008, staged at Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Centre, to establish a platform for the jewellery trade. The 2007 Fair ended with encouraging results.
It accommodated 148 exhibitors from eight countries and regions, namely mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand. 6,138 trade visitors from 79 countries and regions were recorded.
In addition to the assemblage of jewellery companies from around the world, adding lustre to the 2008 Fair will be the largest-ever Panyu pavilion, organised by Guangzhou Panyu Jewelry Manufacturers Association. The pavilion is currently formed by more than 50 reputable companies in the region, occupying over 200 booths.
These famous jewellery companies include Yuan Jun Jewellery, Luk Fook Jewellery, Fai Po Jewellery, Lia Shing Jewellery, Waddy Jewellery, Sinoble Jewelry, KTL (Panyu) Jewellery, An-Ge-More Gemstone Factory and so forth.
The jewellery processing and manufacturing industry in Panyu holds the leading position in China. It is also the strongest jewellery base in Guangzhou. The Government of Panyu District of Guangzhou Municipality, with the assistance of Guangzhou Panyu Jewelry Manufacturers Association, has promoted Panyu's jewellery industry to the global market with remarkable results. In 2008, the association will make full use of the Guangzhou Fair, an internationally famous jewellery showcase, to set a new standard for the industry.
Mr Sunny Chan, Jewellery Fairs Manager (China) of CMP Asia, said: "CMP, as organiser of one of the world's top three jewellery events, the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair, possesses rich experience in organising trade fairs. In recent years, CMP has put great effort into exploring the China market, organising three China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fairs each year to create opportunities for global jewellers to penetrate the promising China market.
