China : Textile exports awaits successful 2008

The textile and apparel sector constitutes an integral part of the Chinese economy and is considered to be the one of the highest revenue earners for the country. In the third quarter of this year, China’s textile and apparel industry began few adjustments.
Although, the country is facing all the negative effects of the increasing value of yuan, the reduction of tax refunds, rising production costs and higher requirements of processing trade, the export of China textile and apparel in 2007 still kept a stable growth due to mounting demand from the international market and upgraded competing ability.
According to experts, thought growth rate of China’s textile and apparel exports will drop slightly due to the national economic macro adjustment, lower profits and constant international friction, it is expected to keep on see a steady rise during 2008 and in the coming years.
The industry insiders also opined that this particular sector has the capacity to endure any kind of internal as well as eternal pressure. To this effect, the manufacturers of textile have gradually started focusing on quality over quantity.
