During an investigation on Chinese enterprises, only 40 percent of those using domestic printing and dyeing equipments found the machines to be durable, where as nearly 90 percent of those using foreign equipments vouched for imported ones.
Although, imported equipments face major difficulties when it comes to maintenance and repair, most Chinese textile enterprises would prefer them than the domestic machines.
At present, China imports nearly 40 percent of the printing ad dyeing equipments from countries like Japan and Germany while the other 60 percent is still produced by Chinese manufacturers.
However, it is believed that in terms of technology, Chinese printing and dyeing industry has improved to a great extent. In spite of these progresses Chinese equipments cannot match the international standards.
Chinese entrepreneurs also expressed that they would prefer environment friendly imported equipments with low consumption over domestic machines.
