During the first seven months of this year, state commodity inspection department in Wuxi New Area conducted sample tests on 101 batches of fabric imports, especially to check effects on environment, health and safety. The results are not optimistic.
Sample test results showed that 10 lots of textile imports had pH content higher than the permitted level, 2 lots had high formaldehyde content, representing a failure rate of 11.88 percent.
Imports from Japan, Jordan, China Taiwan and Hong Kong registered higher failure rate.
Commodity inspection department reminds enterprises to meet strict import clearance so as to avoid frequent problems in fabric imports.
