Cotton Incorporated 10th Anniversary Celebrations

Cotton Incorporated, the US-based research and marketing company representing upland cotton and importers of cotton and cotton textile products, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in China.

Cotton Incorporated showcased its cutting-edge technologies and work from fiber through consumer marketing. More than 100 people attended the event, including guests from China government entities and the cotton industry, as well as the Chinese media. Cotton Incorporated executives J.R. Wang, Robin Merlo, Mark Messura and J. Berrye Worsham were present on the occasion.

Guests were introduced to Cotton Incorporated innovations including Storm Denim technology, the Wicking Windows moisture-management finish, Endure technology and the Engineered Fiber Selection (EFS) software system.

The importance of China and its influence on the world cotton pipeline is far-reaching and undeniable, said J. Berrye Worsham, president and CEO of Cotton Incorporated. Cotton Incorporated is committed to growing in conjunction with China dynamic economy and will continue to utilize its technological resources and expertise to increase the demand for and profitability of cotton?he added.

After entering the in 1997, Cotton Incorporated has closely cooperated with China textile industry, strengthening cotton share of the fiber market. Since establishing an office in Shanghai, Cotton Incorporated has expanded working with the entire textile supply chain, from the spinning mills to sourcing offices and retailers in China.

After China accession to the World Trade Organization in 2002, the demand for imported cotton increased sharply. Cotton Incorporated executive leadership visited China, demonstrating the company was committed to expanding its presence in China, and helping ensure the future success of the international cotton textile industry.

Since 1970, Cotton Incorporated has been at the forefront of research and innovation in cotton. Many cotton technology innovations have been developed and introduced in China, and Chinese cotton textile manufacturers and suppliers have adopted such technologies as Storm Denim, Wicking Windows, Tough Cotton finish and Endure.
