Yuyao city in Zhejiang Province will open a Chinese fur city on October 27 this year with a total investment of 300 million yuan. The 2007 China (Yuyao) Fur Fashion Festival, hosted by China Garment Association and Yuyao City Government, will also open during this period.
Yuyao has become China's largest trading hub for water mink fur apparel, which attracts more than 50,000 domestic and international traders yearly.
Statistics reveal that last year, fur garment enterprises from Yuyao processed about three million pieces of water mink fur, accounting for over 25 percent of the national volume. The sales volume for these products reached over 150,000 pieces with value touching more than one billion yuan.
Currently, more than 200 fur clothing apparel companies and other related enterprises are operating in Yuyao, employing around over 5,000 people.
