China : Menz shirt brands reap healthy benefits

In April 2007, 21 major shopping malls in Beijing sold 20.48 million yuan worth of men's shirts, up 20 percent than the same period last year. Of these, Yansha Marketplace accounted for 15.29 percent.
The average sale price of the men shirts was 319 yuan a piece, a hike of 22 percent than the same period last year. Sale price of Yansha was the highest at around 1,527 yuan per piece.
Among all the men's shirt brands, Pierrecardin ranked first with a turnover of about 1.5 million yuan, which occupied 7.22 percent of the total sales, followed by Chinese brand Youngor, which accounted for 5.37 percent of the turnover.
According to the sales quantity, Shenshi, which is one of the famous men shirt brands in China, topped the list with average price of 141 yuan per piece; Youngor, whose average prices was 248 yuan, ranked second and Pierrecardin took the fifth spot at 487 yuan a piece.
