According to Guangzhou Garment Industry Association, Guangdong is the largest Province of garment production as well as trade in China.
The clothing production of Guangdong Province in 2006 reached a total of 4.61406 billion pieces, an increase of 9.83 percent over the previous year, accounting for 27.14 percent of the national output.
Being the largest central city and commodity distribution base in South China, Guangzhou’s garment sector chiefly depends on the industrial base, especially in Pearl River Delta region, and has maintained the largest scale of growth for consecutive years.
Guangdong textile and garment industry owns an annual output value of more than 35 billion yuan, effectively promoting not only the development of garment industry, but also contributing to the growth of apparel sector in South China and pan-Pearl River Delta region.
