In September of this year, China imported 134,000 tons of cotton, a reduction of 57% year-on-year. Among them, U.S. cotton accounts for 41% (55,403 tons), occupying the first place, followed by Uzbekistan cotton (15,019 tons), Australia cotton (14,191 tons). India cotton is only 10,679 tons.
So far in 2006, China imported a total of 470,000 tons of cotton from India. In 2005/06 year, China accounted for over 66% of India's total cotton exports.
