During"Eleventh Five-year plan", Xinjiang will invest 14.9billion to build featured textile & fashion town orientating at textile industry. Until to 2010, Xinjiang is expected to generate output of 6million-million spindles, over 0.1million rotating textile and total sale of 22billion Yuan.
In recent years, Xinjiang adhere to the principle "Set area, improve quality, increase production, and upgrade market competition capability with high quality and low cost" and furthers to optimize cotton area arrangement. The fine hair cotton and color cotton has been planted in big scale while organ cotton also makes progress. In 2005, Xingjiang cotton industry set new history record the planting area reaches 17.47million Mu, total output 1.957million ton, accounting for 34% of total cotton output. Its production value also accounts for over 30% in Xinjiang Agriculture. As a result, Xinjiang has certainly become China biggest high-quality cotton manufacture base.
At present, the establishment of textile & fashion town has set off : Xinjiang has planned to build a group of textile & fashion industrial zones up and down Tian Mountain ,that is , they strive to build great number of fashion & textile industrial zones in Urumuqi, Changji, Shehezi, Kuitun, Kuerle, Akesu, Kashi, Hami, Weili, Awati, Hetian, Hutubi etc as well as create several national-grade & world-grade brands to upgrade the competitiveness of Xinjiang Textile industry depending on the regional advantage, unique resource and powerful foundation .
