On Oct.23, vice-chairman of China Textile Industry Association, chairman of China Cotton Textile Association Xu Wenyin meet with US cotton industry delegation leaded by chairman of US State Cotton Federation Aleen Helms. Both sides probed into the Sino-US cotton textile trade and cooperation.
Xu Wenying introduced the general situation of China textile industry, cotton industry with persuasive static the yarn output during January-August totaled 10.82million ton, up 20%, cotton output during January August 28billion meters, up 16%, chemical fiber output 13million ton, up 14.7%, fashion 10.6billion pieces, up 11%, all of which disclosed the stable development of China textile industry. The cotton import during January August reached 3.03million ton, accounting for 41% of total cotton amount, main one from US, reaching 1.515million Ton. At present, inland cotton supply still can not meet the demand in manufacture and consumption, so more cotton will be imported by China.
US cotton industry delegation was invited by China Cotton Association to visit China. The members of it included cotton peasants, cotton ginning traders, stock trader and business trader from four cotton-planting areas, total 15 peoples.
During visiting, the delegation will call on China government and cotton association, visit cotton field and cotton process & stock equipment in Xinjiang and Shandong as well as meet with local cotton association and cotton textile factory to make knowledge of the transportation and usage of US cotton.
It is the first face to face communication between Sino-US cotton industry, which showed US cotton industry s attention to China market.
It is known tht US State Cotton Federation has reached agreement with China Cotton Association on cotton industry cooperation and will signed cooperation understanding memo. In the future, both sides will carry out more cooperation and communication in all fields and will conduct negotiation to solve the problems during trade.
