Recently, Caidian monitoring station of National Cotton Market Monitoring System in Hubei Province made an investigation to cotton growth in local area. The result shows that the cotton is growing quite well, the unit output will be higher than that of last year.
50 farmer families have received this investigation, the planting area is 46 hectares, fruit branches in average are 14.6, number of budding is 37.7, matured bolls are 15, the basic situation is better than that of last year. From the end of June to the beginning of July, the local temperature is higher than that in normal years, but there is no great impact caused for cotton growth.
Further more, at present, the third generation of bollworm is very serious that the harmful situation can even be uncontrollable. According to forecast by relevant people in local area, if the weather is no abnormal in post-phase, the unit output of seed cotton this year will be 3750-4050 kg/hectare, which will be a bit higher than that of last year.
