As the important fabric in upstream of textile industry, Polyester staple yarn is mainly applied in producing of spinning, non-woven textile, stuff etc. At present, it is known from Fuzhou custom that on the half of this year, Fujian province polyester staple yarn export reach 6087.7ton, total value 7.575million USD, increased by 1.5double, 1.3double compared with the same period of last year. Especially the polyester staple yarn exported to US, who account for 54.7%, 54.9% of Fujian province polyester staple fiber, increased by 5.5double, 5.2double with same proportion.
It is known that in June of this year, US polyester staple yarn manufacturer appeal to US International Trade Committee for carrying out anti-dumping investigation on part polyester staple yarn imported from China and will impose 101.52% of average anti-dumping tariff. At present, US International Trade Committee have put polyester staple yarn into record, the custom coding of involved product 55032000, investigation period from October,2005 to March,2006. This is a biggest anti-dumping case after Sino-US textile understanding memo being signed, which also indicate that we should pay attention to the increasing textile trade friction.
On the first half year, Fujian province enterprises have stopped to export polyester yarn to EU and drop out from EU market due to EU's high anti-dumping tariff., on the contrary, they increase the export to US.
