Trade and Industry Department, Hong Kong (TID) announced the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has recently issued a revised version of its informed compliance publication (ICP) entitled "What Every Member of the Trade Community Should Know About: Mitts, Not Knitted or Crocheted, Under the HTSUS".
The ICP provides a brief guide for classifying gloves, mittens and mitts under Heading 6216 of the US Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTSUS).
It also provides useful information on glove marking requirements as well as the responsibilities that need to be fulfilled by importers. Because of the bulkiness of the ICP, it is not appended to this circular.
Trade and Industry Department, Hong Kong (TID) play a key role in international trade fora for the pursuit of global free trade; assist the trade and industry in safeguarding and maximising their access to the global market.
