Write: Angada [2011-05-20]

According to statistical department, cotton stocks were not in line with the demand of textile manufacturers at the beginning, this year.

Industry shortage was estimated around 4 million tons of raw materials.

But at present, situation is much under control and manufacturers receive enough quotas as the country has imported 2 million tons of cotton, last month.

However, industry experts believe that cotton statistics issued by the department are not correct and has created confusion in market.

Government, it is told, should establish right data system to ensure stability in domestic cotton markets.
