Write: Shahar [2011-05-20]
COLUMBIA, SC May 10, 2005 Following a successful 2004 launch, Apparel Magazine will produce its second annual China Symposium & Sourcing Fair, Sept. 19-22, 2005, in Shanghai, China.

"Attendees can expect a sourcing event of the highest caliber, coupled with exceptional educational and networking opportunities," said Apparels Publisher, Susan Black. "We anticipate at least 600 China-based producers of textiles and apparel to participate in the Sourcing Fair, and as such, will be located at the world-class Shanghai New International Expo Centre in the Pudong area."

Sponsored by Paxar Corporation, a global leader in brand identification, the four-day event includes an educational Symposium offering high-level market information from leading experts; a two-day Sourcing Fair for which matchmaking services will be available; and a day of tours of area apparel facilities.

"While its no secret that China is likely to become the predominant apparel supplier to the United States, the landscape of doing business there does continue to change," said Black. "Therefore, the goal of our Symposium is to provide those sourcing in China, as well as those looking to enter China, with current information and practical, in-depth advice to help them strategize effectively."

Symposium speakers to date include: Mohan Komanduri, Regional Director, East Asia, Kurt Salmon Associates, on "Determining the Best China Sourcing Strategy for You"; Steve Jesseph, Vice President, Compliance & Risk Management (retired), Sara Lee Branded Apparel, addressing "The Compliance Factor"; and Phillis Lin, Retail Specialist, Kurt Salmon Associates, on "The Future of Apparel Retailing in China."

Additional sessions will address the state of the industry, a regional sourcing comparison and more.

Registration for Apparel s China Symposium & Sourcing Fair is $795 and includes all Symposium sessions, followed by a networking reception and dinner; first-right access to the facilitation of private, pre-arranged meetings with potential sourcing partners; two days admittance to the Sourcing Fair; a day of tours; and some meals. Additional attendees from the same company may register for $595. Pre-registration for the Sourcing Fair only is free. To register, visit apparelmag.com.
