Write: Fujita [2011-05-20]

CNCotton: The east China cotton belt experienced a very wet pattern since May. Despite this, cotton field remained unaffected by the weather.

A persisting rainy pattern has been noted since May Day holiday in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province and Wuwei, Anhui province. However, so far no damage has been made as the rains were light and currently cotton planting is undergoing normally in Yangtze River Valley.

According to the forecast by the central meteorological bureau, a moderate to heavy downpour is likely in the next few days across a wide area of east China plain with rain storm in spotted regions. CNCotton will follow up the development of the wet pattern and more details will be published.
