Feb. Yarn Import Sharply Higher

Beijing, CNCotton: Statistics from General Administration of Customs shows that yarn import totaled 65,100 tons in February, down 1.8% from January. This is 81.8% from year ago level. Yarn export reached 35,700 tons, up 26.6% from previous month and 68% higher than year ago level.

September 2005 through February 2006, yarn import totaled 406,800 tons, up 25% from Feb. 2005. Cumulative yarn export rose 12% to 210,200 tons.
