The Inaugural Event Backed Strongly by the Global Apparel Industry

The networking event for the international apparel industry-Prime Source-runs from today (28March) to this Friday(31 March)at the Hong Kong Convention and ExhibitionCenter. Organised by Asia Pacific Leather Fair Ltd, Prime Source comprises the International Apparel Forum and a trade show.

Prime Source is endorsed by major trade organization including the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA), the United States Association of Imports of Textiles and Apparel (USA-ITA) and Foreign Trade Association (FTA) in Europe, and supported by Hong Kong Textile Council (HKTC) and Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA).

Furthermore, the Advisory Board comprising 17 industry heavyweights has provided valuable assistance to Prime Source over the past year.

Prime Source Trade Show

The Prime Source Trade Show is created as a strategic apparel sourcing platform involving apparel manufacturers , material suppliers and service providers as exhibitors , showcasing the latest in capabilities , material, technologies and supply chain management solutions to worldwide apparel buyers.

In its inaugural edition, the Prime Source trade show hosts over 180 exhibiting companies from 24 countries and regions, including five pavilions from China, Mauritius, Pakistan, Taiwan and the USA.

The importance of the Prime Source trade show as a platform to reach the global apparel industry has even been recognized by countries and manufacturers from outside the Asian region such as the Dominican Republic and Mauritius. They are seeking opportunities to attract Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) from international investors present at the trade show and Forum as well as interested buyers of apparel and contractors seeking fresh production facilities for their brands.

International Apparel Forum

The Forum has been designed as a regular meeting place for the global apparel industry. It comprises of six roundtable sessions each of which has been structured in collaboration with the Prime Source Advisory Board, dealing with issues arising from the many challenges and opportunities facing the industry by the removal of quotas and subsequent protection moves.
