The report put forward by Ecuador foreign trade ministry claim that the country is carrying out investigation to market disturb conducted by China textile product and prepare to take special safeguard measures to China import textile.
Ecuador foreign trade ministry said that the investigation of special safeguard measures carried out by Ecuador textile industry association involve 219catalogues textile products imported from China. The association claim that the increasing textile imported from China go beyond of the one resident can consume and is hurting Ecuador s local product.
It is reported that Ecuador textile industry association require to take special safeguard measures to China textile product , which is opposed by Ecuador textile importer and wholesalers. Because special safeguard measure means that the importer will be imposed 5-300% tariff which will threat the benefit of importer.
China business ministry in Ecuador have invited lawyer who know WTO rule well to hand in appeal material to Ecuador foreign trade ministry and trade investment promotion committee. It is known that the investigation for special safeguard carried out by imports will at least last for 6-8months. China is also taking active measures to deal with this affair.
