There is an old saying that inland cotton focuses on Shandong, while Shandong cotton focuses on Juye County.
Juye is the largest cotton producing county in Shandong as well as one of the top 100 cotton producing counties in China. CNCottons survey shows that the cotton acreage of Juye is expected to remain stable this year, while the acreage in other counties of Heze are expected to expand, resulting in a 10% growth in Heze. Juyes acreage is reported to be between 46,667 and 53,000 ha while the entire Heze district is at 212,700 ha.
As for the seed cotton price of new crop year, grower think that 5.2-5.4 yuan per kilogram seems to be acceptable.
Unlike other areas of China, the weather in Heze has been very consistent with 100% emergence and an average of 2 leaves.
In Heze, farmers are fairly optimistic and think they may have a good crop in the making.
