CNCotton: Jiangsu Shengze yarn market experienced fluctuation during the week ending May 14.
Owing to the active purchase of knitting sector, some raw material providers have raisen prices. On May 14, 21S 100% cotton yarn was priced 18,600 yuan per ton, 32S and 40S are priced at 19,900 yuan and 20,500 yuan respectively, up 100-200 yuan compared to previous week.
Pushed by the price hike of viscose rayon, rayon cotton yarn also went up. 30S and 40S rayon cotton yarn climbed to 18,500 yuan and 20,600 yuan respectively, up 100 yuan from the previous week. As raw material price continued to go up and the demand from downstream industry have been expanding, rayon cotton yarn price is expected to achieve further rise.
Polyester yarn price in Jiangsu Shengze market remained concussive. 21S and 32S polyester yarn were still offered at 13,800 yuan and 14,000 yuan. Insiders pointed out that, considering the decline of polyester staple price and the high inventory of polyester yarn, a downturn seems to be inevitable.
