CNCotton: According to Ningbo Customs, cumulative cotton import for Jan through Apr period totaled 23,600 tons, or 32.16 million USD, up 300% and 290% from year ago level. Average unit import price is 1,363.50 USD, down 3.7% from the same period of 2005.
January through April, cotton imports for general trade recorded 16,200 tons, totaling 21.36 million USD. Indian cotton has made the fastest growth, with a total amount of 17,600 tons and an import value of 22.99 mil USD, which is 87 and 94 times higher than year ago level respectively, accounting for 74.6% and 71.5% of the total import and gross import value.
