Cotton sales remain slow in Xinjiang

CNCotton: According to NDCR (National Development and Reform Commission) Xinjiang branch, one third of lint cotton remains unsold in Xinjiang, though the sales price has been lower than procurement price. Insiders point out that such a phenomenon owes to three factors: firstly, Xinjiang cotton missed the high season for cotton sales due to the bottleneck of transportation; secondly, imported cotton weighs on domestic cotton market; thirdly, sales pressure upon Xinjiang cotton increases with the tight fund circulation of merchants. Despite of it, sales remain slow.
