The textile quota hot in last year becomes "chicken rib". Commerce Ministry Bidding-invitation Committee for Textile Export issue bulletin that since 2nd bidding-invitation for the quota of textile exported to EU and US, 1800 enterprises have not paid bidding deposit, 1/3 of them abandon the quota, including 42 Ningbo enterprises who have not paid quota deposit. Bidding-Invitation Committee punish above enterprises by withdrawing quota and remove the bidding qualification in 2006,2007.
Since sign the understanding contract with US and EU in last year, China adopt quota system again and conduct in two ways-achievement allocation and public inviting bidding. The result of 2nd online bidding-invitation show that total 7815 enterprises hand over the bidding paper, nearly thousand Ningbo enterprises participate in bidding.
Why enterprises abandon this uneasily-gotten quota? One textile expert told to reporter that enterprise abandoning textile quota is due to high quota price. He introduce that the fierce competition of bidding for quota online lead to high bidding price, the one for some hot product even reach over ten times of lowest bidding price. So the quota can not bring the profit to fashion export enterprise that would rather to turn to market outside EU and US...
Besides, nearly thousand enterprises get quota that can be applied among 2nd textile quota allocation in 2006. Many enterprises abandon the bidded quota because they have enough quota for exporting textile to US when traditional export fastigium have not arrived.
