Recently, Kashi Agricultural Economy System Administrative Bureau of Xinjiang Province has monitored the local agricultural materials, the result shows that the total expenses of local agricultural production materials in the first half year of 2006 is around 2.24 billion yuan, up 9.4% from last year.
From this year, because the price for international crude oil is raised, the prices for raw materials of domestic chemical fertilizers are very high, the prices for agricultural materials are continuously kept at high level, and so the rise in prices of agricultural materials became an outstanding problem against agricultural productions presently. It is learnt, the prices of various production materials are raised generally in each county (city) of this area this year, the prices of chemical fertilizers have reached the highest level in recent 3 years, which includes carbamide, raised from 1.8 yuan/kg in last year to 2.1-2.2 yuan/kg; the price of diesel oil is raised from 4,298 yuan/ton in last year to 5,270 yuan/ton, the rise rate is nearly 1,000 yuan/ton. The price rise of agricultural materials has increased the cost of agricultural productions. Thus, the planting benefits of farmers are greatly reduced; some farmers decreased their input for production because of this reason, and farmers have widely worried about the profits this year.
