Philippine government plan to promote development of tropic fiber

To save cost of import textile and offer employment to local workers, Philippine government Technology department appeal through media to develop tropic fiber continually.
The report from Textile Graduate School under technology department show that if tropic fiber including hemp, banana, pineapple fiber can be used in fashion industry as the substitute of import textile, then Philippine can save 20.30million USD annually.
The research report show that tropic fiber without complex craftwork can produce cheap, handsome and durable textile. At present, Philippine can produce 13.67 ton pineapple fiber, 104.5ton panama fiber and 76.11ton hamp fiber, but these material can process to real textile fiber through abstraction and come unglued.
Technology Department said that Philippine is negotiating with some countries about the cooperation and alienation of tropic fiber developing technology.
