The news from Europe Textile Industry Association showed that due to the new textile quota, the price of China export produce rose.

The updated report from Euratex showed that during January-July, 2006, EU's textile& garment imported from China totaled 11.9billion Yuan, the import quality is decreased by 8% while the import value is increased by 3.1%. Among these products, ten categories of products was posed quota again by EU, the import of which during January-May,2006 is increased by 64%, only accounting for 9.9% of total import instead of 26% in the same period of 2006. However, the average price of these products was increased by 61%, such as the price of skirt and T-shirt, which rose most violently, reaching 226% and 110%. Only the price of twine keeps stable.

The experts presented different reasons to above conditions. Some pointed to the higher quality of product, some turned to the higher cost or appreciation of RMB, but more peoples thought that EU's control to quota to ensure safe goods supply leaded to this result.
