The 11th China (Humen) International Fashion Fair is scheduled to open today until November 14 in Humen, Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
To attract domestic and overseas visitors, the organizing committee of the fair has prepared eight events as its highlights.
An international platform for Korean culture
At the opening ceremony, modern fashion, singing, dancing and Korean fashion will be staged. In recent years, Korean culture has become extremely popular.
There will be various Korean traditional costumes displayed, including the official uniform, civil clothes and festival costumes.
It will not only display simple, casual and plain modern fashion, but also show fashion that involves linen, hand-woven cloth, machine-woven cloth, silk and brocade, making Humen fair a colourful platform of national traditions and international fashion.
Top-grade masters' show
This year's fair will have a total of 12 fashion shows. Top fashion designer Ji Wenbo, Liu Yang and Victor Luo will have special sessions. Ji was selected as the only Best Male Garment Designer at China (Beijing) Fashion Week in 2003.
He has been a nominee for the Jinding Award, the top award for garment design in China, for three consecutive years since 2001.
Liu Yang's show was designed for Yi Chun, China's famous brand product and trademark. Victor Luo an American Chinese, will be a senior advisor to the fair.
A strong array of participants
Although held in the same venue, this fair has many special booths reserved by international garment brands from Japan, the Republic of Korea, France and Italy.
EU forum
During the fair, the European Union Industrial Group Social Responsibility Forum will be held in Humen for the first time.
The forum, co-hosted by China Textile Industry Association and related institutions from the European Union and the National Development and Reform Commission in China, has the theme of social responsibility towards sustainable development of the industry.
A photo contest
"Humen Cup" Photo Contest is gaining more popularity. The contest at this session is themed on "The Light of Harmony".
It has attracted 2,918 photographers from 23 countries and regions and 30 provinces and municipalities of China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. After the primary test, 30 photographers from nine countries and regions were qualified for the final contest on November 11.
Science and technology innovation platform
Humen Science and Technology Innovation Centre is one of the key projects of the Humen Government. The centre, unveiled on October 26, provides five platforms of information interaction, design and production, professional exchanges, management consultation and marketing expansion.
In-depth matching of garment fabric
The Second Popular Fabric and Accessories Show will also be held during the fair. A special lecture will discuss the Popular Trend of Garment Fabric in the Textile Industry in China.
A CCTV variety show
China Central Television will give a large-scale variety show on the night of the opening. Famous movie stars and singers will bring the fair to new heights.
