EU and India are Strengthening Trade Ties

India and European Union are enjoying great deal of trade activities as EU? statistical agency revealed considerable increase in the trade from both sides.

According to the statistical agency, the European Union exported goods worth 19 billion euro to India from January-November 2005, reflecting 24 percent growth over the corresponding period in 2004.

India echoed the same spirit and exported goods worth 17.3 billion euro to the EU, with an increase of 17 percent over the corresponding period in 2004.

However, India is behind in comparison to Russia and China since EU? imports from Russia and China grew by 32 percent and 23 percent respectively.

The EU recorded a deficit of 106.4 billion euro in its external trade in 2005, compared with a deficit of 62.9 billion euro in 2004.
