A temporary hall to be constructed at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2005 due to demand for space

Many market leading companies show their confidence in the fair.

Due to a huge demand from the textile industry, the organisers of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fab-rics, Messe Frankfurt and CCPIT, will construct a temporary hall in the grounds of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, giving an additional 1,500 sqm of space at the show. Scheduled for 26-29 October, the fair already has over 1,300 confirmed exhibitors from 24 countries & regions, in-cluding national groups from Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey.

"We expect the show to be at least 20% bigger this year,?says Annie Ma, Group Manager of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt in Hong Kong. ?he positive response from the overseas as well as do-mestic exhibitors illustrates that, facing intense competition they are eager to promote their products and their production capabilities and they are also enthusiastic to get a better idea of how the Chi-nese market works."

Taking the necessary long-term view of the Chinese market, and showing their confidence in the fair, many of the market leading companies who were present in 2004 are back to continue their promotional activities in 2005. Returning exhibitors include 3M, Cotton Council International, Dow Fiber Solutions, the Huafu Group, Hyosung, Lenzing Fibers, Swarovski and Union Knopf, either ex-hibiting as principals or through their Chinese agent.

"Since the uncertain duty policy in US and European market, and the fast growth of Asian markets with China in particular, we have been paying special attention to our promotional efforts in China, says Mr. Joe Chiu from the Huafu Group, a leading dyed melange yarn manufacturer. "Our partici-pation in 2004, not only helped us to promote our company image but we also made great contacts with some US and European end buyers like Target and Sears as well as some important fabric mills and garment factories from the Shanghai area. Those results make us believe that Shanghai and the area have real potential and encouraged to be present again."
