China : Fashion giants pressured to build strong brands

Wang Qing, director of the organizing committee of China International Fashion Week, recently pointed out, the threshold of the event should be raised. Those brands which will obtain access to the Fashion Week must be from famous enterprises.
This statement makes large enterprises sense the pressure from ‘brands’. It is a challenge and a must-face problem in front of Chinese garment industry to enhance brand consciousness and strengthen the industry.
After a decade of ups and downs, China International Fashion Week receives growing concern from all levels. However, while the total garment production increases yearly, major events unfold in full swing, China has embarrassed to discover they have little independent brands created by them with worldwide influence.
This statement does not only set the first orientation for the future development of China International Fashion Week, but also gives an explanation from another profile to show the development of China’s entire garment industry, which has shifted from the boom of quantity to a breakthrough change of ‘quality’. Various major companies will start to chase the permit access of ‘Famous brands’.
