China : EU anti dumping pin downs import of local shoes

In a recently held meeting, a senior official of Italy Shoes Association said that the anti dumping measures implemented by EU in 2006, has efficiently restrained imports of Chinese and Vietnamese leather shoes.
The data revealed by Association shows that from April to December 2006, during levying anti-dumping tax, quantity of leather shoes imported from China and Vietnam dropped, the decrease rate was more than 16 percent.
With the imposition of anti-dumping tax on children shoes, the period from October to December saw a drop of 29.4 percent in this category.
