Germany: Dorlastan Black, the New Ideal Spandex Fiber

Germany: Dorlastan Black, the New Ideal Spandex Fiber

Write: Anand [2011-05-20]

Dormagen based embodiment of textile elasticity firm Dorlastan Fibers GmbH has added Dorlastan Black to its product range. This new spandex fiber prevents unacceptable grin-through in dark fabrics, regardless of which other fibers they contain.

Separate overdyeing of the spandex fiber is therefore unnecessary where the dyes only stain the non-elastic fibers. Dorlastan Black also prevents grin-through in elastic combination yarns containing dark dope-dyed hard fibers such as polyester, polyamide or acrylics.

This new polyester-based fiber type is available in 40 and 70 denier. It has excellent fastness to light, UV and NOx. Since it also has outstanding stability to PER and chlorine, it is suitable for use in swimwear and can be dry cleaned without problem. The black shade of the fiber is stable to
cleaning with both solvents and aqueous liquors.

The company is exhibiting its new fiber, together with its extensive range of other products for the textile industry, at Interfili?e in Lyon, France, from September 2-5, 2005. Trends for 2007 will also be presented.

The Dorlastan product range comprises filament yarns made of segmented polyester/polyurea urethane. Small amounts of these yarns are sufficient to give fabrics optimal stretch properties (elongation and elastic recovery power), dimensional stability and wear comfort. They are also extremely durable. This combination of outstanding properties makes Dorlastan spandex yarns an idealcomponent for modern yarns, fabrics and apparel.

Dorlastan can be used as bare or covered yarns in virtually all textile applications. It is suitable for use with all natural fibers and with manmade fibers such as polyamide, polyester, acrylic and acetate.

DORLASTAN is the embodiment of textile elasticity. Since it has been established and assumed a leading position in the world market in 1964, the brand stands out for its exceptional stretchability, elastic recovery and wear comfort topped by an extreme power of resistance and great durability. This combination of striking product qualities makes elastan filament yarns an ideal component of modern yarns, fabrics, and apparels.
