According to a China Down Clothes Special Committee report, down clothes this winter will be lighter and trendier. They will be fashionable and designed keeping in mind the leisure and sportswear sectors.
Living up to the goal of making down clothes look more like fashion wear, Yangzhou Du Sha Feather & Down Products Co Ltd recently exhibited around 100 of their latest styles for this year. The colours were richer and more vibrant. This year, down clothes will also carry a 50 percent discount.
This new trend in down clothing could be the result of last year's warm winters, which resulted in the closure of around 3000 down clothes manufacturing units. Almost 60 percent of the total output of down clothes remained unsold.
The total output of down clothes in 2006 was 224 million pieces, up 37.5 percent compared to 2005.
