Even before the end of second day at the three-day Germany international shoes fair Dusseldorf (GDS), Jierda Shoe Company from Wenzhou received orders worth 180,000 pairs of leather shoes. Company was also hopeful about grabbing further orders of over 200,000 pairs.
For Wenzhou shoemakers, GDS is a more important international exhibition than Canton Fair. Some companies even believe that entire year’s export is largely determined by the number of orders bagged at GDS.
At least 50 enterprises from Wenzhou participated in the footwear exhibition this year.
Chinese enterprises cover a booth area of about 11,000 square meters this year in GDS, of which Wenzhou shoe enterprises occupy almost one third of the area. Dozens of Wenzhou footwear brands are exhibited directly by footwear enterprises.
