Wool-Type Apparel Demand Up in China

Wool-Type Apparel Demand Up in China

Write: Lavinia [2011-05-20]

The latest data published by the Chinese National Commercial Centre reveals that during the first seven months of 2005, retail demand for wool-type apparel was quite high, while during the same period last year, the growth rates were low on the higher levels.

With women's wear beating other products, all major wool-type apparel categories excluding jackets, registered tremendous annual profit.

Men's suit sales, a key wool segment grew at a somewhat slower rate. Sources from major women's wear companies indicate that the comparative amount of wool used in this sector is failing to gain market share to other fibres, whereas wool-type women's wear sales increased strongly year-on-year for the period.
