AWI has once again showcased its leadership in wool research, development and marketing, hosting a successful exhibit at September’s Spin Expo in Shanghai, China.
The Spin Expo is a prominent biannual trade fair organised by independent textile specialists. AWI had approximately 400 people visit its stands every day during this most recent show.
“Spin Expo continues to expand every year and this September the calibre of exhibitors and the premium quality of the presentations attracted a great number of key global industry personnel throughout the entire supply chain, from early stage processors to retailers and brands,” said AWI’s Global Product Development Manager, Mr Jimmy Jackson.
This was the third time AWI had participated in the fair. This year it showcased over fifteen product developments, highlighting collections with ultra-lightweight textiles, new knitting and spinning techniques and even aromatherapy-treated fabrics which keep the wearer relaxed.
“It is important that AWI continues to build upon our presence within the Chinese domestic and global marketplace and build business relationships through trade fairs such as Spin Expo, and to re-build the image of Australian Merino as a premium apparel fibre,” said Mr Jackson.
AWI will now hold various individual workshops with retailers and brands interested in using Australian Merino wool. The key markets to be targeted are the USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong and China.
