Canton Textile, the Chinese textiles fair for machines, fibres, yarns and finishing is looking forward to provide a vital sourcing platform for clothing fabrics and trimmings.

The main objective of the International Apparel Sourcing Fair, which will run from 1 to 3 March 2006, is to establish direct relations between European, American and Japanese customers and the manufacturers in Guangdong. By early December, it has received some 450 registrations for both events.

In Guangdong province, more than over 30,000 textile and clothing manufacturers run business, employing around five million staff. Currently, this industry exports $18 billion worth of apparel primarily to Hong Kong, followed by Japan and the US.

The new International Apparel Sourcing Fair will be staged alongside with the 6th Canton Textile in the new Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Stuttgart-based Business Media China AG (BMC) is co-organiser and its Guangzhou-based subsidiary Mesago Zhenwei International Exhibitions Co Ltd.
