Confederation of Brazilian Hides and Skins Industries (CICB) reported that Brazil? leather exports generated sales worth $131.9 million in December 2005, up 16 percent, compared to sales of $113.8 million during the year before.
Brazilian leather exports for the year 2005, reached $1.29 billion compared to $1.40 billion in 2004, registering a growth of 8 percent, the report said.
Imports of Brazilian leather for the year 2005 by South Korea was worth $38.9 million, up 62 percent, compared to $24 million in the year before.
United States imported $156.2 million worth of Brazil's leather in 2005, up by 36 percent, compared to $114.7 million in 2004.
Netherlands imported leather from Brazil worth $28.9 million compared to $21.6 million in 2004, registering a growth of 33 percent.
