Villagers in Hongshan district of Wuhan add the final touches to a puppet based on characters from Chinese literature classic "Outlaws of the Marsh."

Villagers and laid-off workers in the Hongshan district of Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei province, now have a common interest - making puppets under the supervision of folk artists in a local culture and art center.
They have produced puppets based on the characters in Chinese classical literature, such as "Outlaws of the Marsh," as well as other folklore.
The puppets, rich in expression and eye-catching in color, are of traditional craftsmanship handed down for generations.
