The removal of the quota regime had come as a big bonus for the industry. Currently, the Indian textile industry exports worth US $ eight billion to the US, one of the biggest textile markets in the world, Chella K Srinivasan, Regional President, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, South India Council, told reporters here today.
The chamber along with the Apparels and Handloom Exporters Association, Chennai, will organise a one-day seminar on 'Textile industry-vision 2010- strategies and Preparedness' on March 9 here.
The seminar will discuss the strategies required to emerge as a lead player in the textile market and other related matters. It will also be a platform to the textile entrepreneurs to make a blueprint of the strategies and preparedness for the exponential growth of up to US $ 40 billion, he said.
