Statistics reveal Vietnam earned a bright outlook for export of leatherette shoes after the European Commission (EC)implemented the anti-dumping lawsuit on leather capped - shoes as per the records avaiable for the first two months of 2006.
During January-February, the EU accounted for 95 percent of exports yielding around US $8.62 million and representing almost 171.77 percent rise from same period 2005.
Major markets in EU included Germany, England, France, Spain, Belgium and Austria.
According to Lefaso, exports turnover of goods is still modest, as Vietnam has only 20 enterprises producing those goods in small capacity.
However, the enterprises would face challenges from China who has advantages in low ?priced leatherette materials.
In a bid to develop products, Leafaso advices footwear companies to change their goods production into the leatherette shoes.
