Turkmenistan: Commodity and Raw Material Business up at Exchange

Volume and value of transactions of commodity and raw materials at exchange of Turkmenistan, country? centre of foreign trade, have increased in the recent months.

Local media revealed that over US $160 million worth of transactions were recorded in the last one week.

According to exchange sources, cash purchase of polypropylene was made by Turkish, the US, UAE, British Virgin Islands and Kazakh businessmen.

All oil products came from Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. Lint-cotton, cotton yarn and dyed cloths were purchased by businessmen from Great Britain, Switzerland and Ireland.

Swiss businessmen purchased cotton yarn. British Virgin Islands and Azerbaijani businessmen bought grey fabric, and South Korea's businessmen purchased textile production waste.

A wide range of knitwear was purchased by Turkish and Russian businessmen. American merchants signed contracts for purchase of polypropylene bags.

Local traders purchased lint-cotton worth more than Manat17 billion for domestic consumption.
