The Qingdao Textile and Clothes Export Fair 2008 commenced on April 11. The expo was co-sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Qingdao Municipal Government.
Held in the city of Qingdao itself, the fair which aimed at restructuring the textile industry and updating its products, extended till the 13th of this month.
What impelled the industry to take this stance was the head tearing appreciation of RMB and the consequent rise of essential raw materials that have plagued the textile sector for quite some time now.
More than 600 potential buyers from a large number of countries like Europe, America and Japan attended the fair including popular international enterprises like Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Otto.
The fair is expected to assist the industry in adapting contemporary trend and additionally, will help domestic enterprises to bring about necessary changes in its operational procedures.
Most importantly, the fair provided an excellent opportunity for local entrepreneurs to enlarge its sales channels and swamp domestic and international markets with its price-competitive products.
