Bangladesh: Proposal for Separate Textile Industrial Park

For smooth supply of utility services to factories, separate textile industrial park will help Government to operate seamlessly, said LGRD and Cooperative Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan.

Abdul Mannan said, "It will be easier for the government to ensure uninterrupted supply of power and gas to the textile units if those are located in a particular area."

He also emphasized to end disputes between textile millers and garment factory owners.

He suggested that industrialist should also take care of environment by implementing pollution control measures.

BTMA President Abdul Awal said that textile sector should get Government support as overseas competitors get their Government support.

Awal also informed that 80 to 90 percent yarns are being supplied to the knitwear industry by local textile millers.

In textile exposition started on May 18, almost 39 textile organizations had taken part.
