Over the 10 year period since the first All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) was held, firstly in Beijing, it has become firmly established as China's premier international leather industry event, featuring the latest products and services from both international and mainland companies.
As in previous years ACLE has been run in conjunction with China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) and Moda Shanghai, offering buyers an opportunity to see and discuss exhibits spanning the complete spectrum of the leather industry: from raw materials, to chemicals and dyes, tanning machinery, footwear manufacturing machinery, CAD/CAM systems - through to the finest finished footwear, leathergoods, garments and fashion accessories.
Demonstrating the truly international flavour of the three fairs the 1,126 exhibitors at this 2008 event come from 36 countries and regions, representing all the major global players in the industry. There are 24 group pavilions. Three of which are new. One of them, the Leathergoods & Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh, is also representative of this year's Highlighted Country, Bangladesh.
The other two are from Egypt, with the Egyptian Exporters Association, and Taiwan, with the Taiwan Regional Association of Synthetic Leather Industries.
With their geographical spread and product variety, these three pavilions alone are an example of the range available to buyers attending the exhibition.
A comprehensive programme of seminars, covering topics as diverse as the range of exhibits on view, has been developed over the years to meet a growing demand.
This year there are seminars scheduled on eco-friendly leather, innovative chemicals, design trends and developments, Regulations on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). The above events are open to all, and free of charge.
Once again ACLE, CIFF and Moda Shanghai have combined to give China's top level buyers and technicians an opportunity to see some of the very best products and technology the world has to offer, meet with key players in the industry, and catch up with customers and suppliers.
ACLE, CIFF and Moda Shanghai are organised jointly by APLF Limited and the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA).
The All China Leather Exhibition runs from 3 - 5, September 2008 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Pudong, Shanghai.
