First New Crop Xinjiang Shipments Reach Eastern Mills

The first shipments of new crop Xinjiang cotton have moved to eastern China, which came from Production and Construction Corps (PCC), Agriculture Fifth Division farms. PCC farms and gins are some of the most advanced in China and are known for high quality cotton, with its output commanding a premium. Its cotton is in strong demand. Already this season, the Fifth Division has picked over 50% of its cotton crop and has ginned and classed 30,000 tons of lint. The first load of 2008 Xinjiang cotton has been shipped by this Division to Shandong Cotton and Jute Corporation.
