Despite the Tsunami like crisis and the resultant slowdown, the Wuliangye Group has not put brakes on capacity expansion and diversification. A new garment production unit of Shenshan Clothing Co., Ltd. in Chengdu, Sichuan, which is a subsidiary of Wuliangye Group, is all set to start operations by the end of the month.
The construction as well as erection of machinery which took nearly 12 months, is expected to realize an annual output value of Yuan 1 billion once 100 percent capacity production is reached. The new unit is expected to be the largest modern enterprise in the southwest part of China, with integrated R & D, design and production facilities.
The company has invested around Yuan 420 million and is spread over an area of more than 13.34 hectares in Longquanyi Economic and Technological Development Zone, Chengdu and will employ around 5,000 people. It will mainly manufacture and sell various clothing products as well as environment-friendly non-woven handbags.
